Detailed information

Product detailed description

Uses:
  • The spiral wound seal is suitable for use in a wide temperature and pressure range and is therefore almost universal.
  • The spiral wound seal can be used to seal pressures up to 25MPa and temperatures as low as -200°C up to 1000°C.
  • Due to its design, the spiral wound seal is easy to install without causing any damage.
  • The outer guide ring serves to centre the spiral seal section relative to the flange and prevents the seal from being ejected.
  • By combining different coil materials and metals, the seal can be used in a wide range of operating conditions according to the user's requirements.
  • Due to its non-stick nature, the spiral wound seal can be easily removed during disassembly.
  • The spiral wound seal does not damage flange surfaces.
Composition:
  • The sealing part of the spiral wound gasket consists of a metal strip spirally wound together with a soft gasket filler. The metal strip provides the seal with excellent elastic properties, while the pliable seal filler ensures a high tightness. This combination of materials makes the spiral wound seal suitable for applications where the seal is subjected to large fluctuations in pressure and temperature of the sealing media.

Types of spiral wound seals:

S P I R A T E M 2

  • Consists of a gasket filler and a V-shaped metal spiral strip, suitable for flange type expansion/expansion and tongue and groove flanges

S P I R A T E M 1 2

  • Same as SPIRATEM 2 but with outer centering ring (also used to center the seal), suitable for rough flanges

WITH P I R A T E M 2 3

  • Same as SPIRATEM 2 but with inner ring (reduces turbulent media flow and better protects the spiral from corrosion), suitable for flanges of the flange type

S P I R A T E M 1 2 3

  • same as SPIRATEM 2 but with inner and outer ring, suitable for rough flanges
